Professional Profile and Overview of Therapy:
I am a licensed professional counselor with a master’s degree in counseling psychology from Our Lady of the Lake University. As a psychotherapist, I do not prescribe medication, but am trained in a broad range of therapeutic techniques. Please know that while it is impossible to guarantee any specific results regarding you therapeutic goals, I will work with you as conscientiously and diligently as I can to achieve the best possible results for you. If at any time you are dissatisfied or have any questions about my services, please let me know.

About therapy: Your first appointment will consist of obtaining detailed information about the problems that are causing you to seek psychotherapy. Following this, I will give you my treatment recommendations and we will develop a plan. In general, therapy sessions are usually once weekly or biweekly. Although this varies with the individuals or family’s needs. Length of treatment is widely variable depending on the problems, but I will discuss this with you. Typically, sessions are 50 minutes long. The remaining 10 minutes is to make notes, return phone calls, deal with insurance companies etc.

Emergencies: If an emergency arises after hours (generally 9-5 Monday through Friday I am in the office) the voice mail will page me. I try to return pages with in the hour. Please be considerate of after hours calling.

Payment: Payment in full, or, if you are using insurance, payment of your co-pay in full is due at the time of service. The fee for any returned check is $25.00. Every effort will be made to help you file you insurance-covered charges for psychotherapy. I must emphasize, however, that as a mental health provider, my relationship is with you, not your insurance carrier. While the filing of insurance claims is a courtesy that I extend to my clients, all charges are your responsibility from the date the services are rendered.

Cancellation policy: If it is necessary for you to cancel an appointment, it must be cancelled at least 24 hours ahead of the scheduled time. If canceled less then 24 hours of the appointment time you will be charged for the session. These will be your charges as your insurance company does not pay for missed appointments. If you do not show up for your appointments on three occasions, I will no longer be able to work with you.
